The Institute, presently, is functioning on day care basis, providing OPD services, external beam radiotherapy facility, and chemotherapy
  services on outpatient basis only.
   
For Radiotherapy, the Institute has one ‘state-of-the-art’ Linear Accelerator providing 6 MV photons and 5 MeV to 14 MeV energy Electrons
  Beams..
   
The Institute also has one Radiotherapy Simulator with planning CT facility, mould room equipments, and complete range of calibration
  / dosimetry equipments/instruments.
   
Cone beam stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy facility with BrainLab system is also available at the Institute.
   
The Institute has one of the finest set ups for the mould room and radiation physics quality assurance/ dosimetry systems in the country.
   
For laboratory, imaging, surgical and emergency services, the Institute is presently dependent upon the adjoining GTB Hospital.
   
Dedicated indoor facilities, ultra modern laboratories and imaging facilities, state-of-the-art operation theatres with ICU set up and video-
  conferencing facilities are likely to be commissioned at the Institute by December 2007.
   
Additional equipments for radiotherapy comprising of High Energy Accelerator with Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) and Intensity
  Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) features and a High Dose Rate Brachytherapy unit are likely to be commissioned by March 2008. 
   
Diagnostic/therapeutic radiation medicine facilities including PET-CT, Gamma Camera and radioisotope treatments, intraoperative
  radiotherapy, targeted chemotherapy, stem cell/bone marrow transplant, and diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopy facilities etc. are likely to be established at this Institute by December 2008.
   
High-level research laboratories comprising of onco-genetics, immunology, tissue/stem cell culture, and radiobiology shall be
  established and epidemiological studies including community service, public education and early diagnosis programmes taken up by December 2008.
   
Various academic programmes under medical, para-medical, nursing, basic sciences and biotechnology fields leading to award of MD,
  DM, MCh, BSc, MSc, PhD degrees in collaboration with reputed national/ international institutions/universities/organizations shall be initiated soon thereafter.
   
All the facilities and services at this Institute shall be fully networked for instant communication of all the data and images pertaining to
  efficient management of patients as well as of the support services/administrative activities with an aim to establish DSCI as a leading international institution in the field of cancer within the next few years.
   
Once fully established, the Institute shall like to enter into collaborative research, academic and manpower exchange programmes
  with other similar institutions at the national and international levels pertaining to various spheres in the field of Oncology – as envisaged under the Aims & Objectives of the Institute. 
   
The Institute has well conceived plans for further expansion in a telescopic manner depending upon the needs of the patients. It has
  built in capacity to expand further by adding additional indoor beds, operation theatres, ICU Beds, radiotherapy facilities, chemotherapy facilities, and other therapeutic/research facilities to meet the needs of newer developments to continue to provide a leadership role to all others in the field of Oncology.
   
 

It is expected that once fully established, the DSCI shall be a unique hub for comprehensive clinical, academic, research and community services in the field of Oncology at par with some of the best such institutions in this field at the international levels.
