The Institute is situated in East Delhi just before Delhi-UP Border (near Shahdara) on the road connecting GT Road and 100 Foota Road. On this connecting road, it is located about 1.4 Km from either end - adjoining Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital and the University College of Medical Sciences at Dilshad Garden, Delhi 110 095.

The Institute is well connected with the city bus service through several routes. Nearest Metro station is Shahdara Station which is the east end station on the Shahdara – Rithala line. The Institute is about 4 km away from the Shahdara Metro Station. This metro line is soon being extended upto Dilshad Garden. After commissioning of this extended route, the nearest metro station shall be about 2.0 km away from this Institute.

  DSCI can also be approached from Vivek Vihar Railway Station (about 2.5 km away) on EMU rail route connecting Delhi Junction and Sahibabad Junction. The Institute is located about 1.4 kms towards North from the main GT Road opposite Jhilmil Industrial area.
