The Institute has been planned to be developed in phases: |
| First Phase |
Clinical Oncology services comprising of OPD consultations, day care chemotherapy and latest technology external radiotherapy with Linear Accelerator have been functioning since 26th August 2006.
DSCI is the first Government institution in the country to have started exclusively with Linear Accelerator based radiation treatment facilities. |

| Second Phase |
2nd Phase facilities comprising of 100-bedded in-patient set up in General and Private Wards, state-of-the-art Imaging and Laboratory services, Modular Operation theatres and ICU etc. for Surgical Oncology are likely to be commissioned by March 2008. |

| Third Phase |
Bone Marrow Transplant facility, special labs for genetics, immunology, tissue culture, stem cell culture etc. alongwith addition of two more Linear Accelerators with IGRT facility and HDR Brachytherapy equipment are likely to be added in the 3rd Phase by August 2008. |

| Fourth Phase |
PET-CT and Gamma Camera facility shall be added in 4th Phase by December 2008 alongwith further augmentation of the existing facilities. Collaborative R&D programmes, academic programmes, epidemiological and community-based public education, early detection/screening and rehabilitation programmes shall also be added during this phase. Dedicated clinical and research units like paediatric oncology, gynaecologic oncology, preventive/predictive oncology etc. shall be added in due course as per the specialized needs of the patients attending DSCI.
A dedicated Library with latest facilities is being established at DSCI to remain updated in clinical, academic and R&D activities of the Institute. |

ALL THE FACILITIES AT THIS INSTITUTE HAVE BEEN PLANNED TO BE
FULLY NETWORKED THROUGH LAN FOR DIRECT TRANSFER OF IMAGES
AND PATIENTS’ DATA INDICOM COMPLIANT FORMAT. |
It is targeted to complete all the Phases of the present Plans by December 2008. |
